How To Install* The Gateways use Xen to provide virtual machines.

* Generally the host and virtual machines run CentOS. However there are exceptions.

* A number of different Grid Software Stacks can be provided, each on their own virtual machine. For example: Globus 2.4 (Pre-WS), Globus 4, gLite

* A number of specific functions are also provided, again, each on its own virtual machine. For example, a Data Staging machine and a Tomcat enabled portal machine.
License

ARCS is using an Apache2 license for all software developed. See LicenseOptions for original notes.
The  ARCS National Grid is interconnected using 'Gateways' operated at each ARCS member site. These gateways help provide a common interface to HPC facilities and data resources.
